Stolen Jars-Wreaths Rakes

Mood Monday

Today, I am having a hard time finding tunes which please me enough to listen all the way through.

Feeling quite finicky.

I get amazing music sent to me every day, but today as I combed through back logged submissions, I just couldn’t commit to any one track.

So, I just went back through all of my e-mails. This band has reached out on a few occasions with their new album (well 2015), Kept, and I have listened, and listened again with the same wide eyed wonder.

The wait is over and I have to feature this lush, layered, and lovely track from a band I have blogged before. Stolen Jars has a style which is quite unique, and this song is a shining example with lots of snapping, clapping, tapping, and rounds of honeyed voices.

Enjoy!

Stolen Jars-Wreaths Rakes

“honest heads
are yards ahead
of other parts for when your heads on mine
I know our minds see eye to eye

and legs and legs and coiled thick
and by and by our faces stick
and one and one we soon become some other other
mind to mind

sorry but we leaned too long
now I’m shedding my skin is gone
and other creatures we must become

sorry but we leaned too long
your legs are weak eat up run far
and soon you’ll be back to where we were

but still I find your legs wrapped mine,
as close as notes in our old rhymes.
you hold them now they cut me deep
but yours and mine will still keep.

but still I find your legs wrapped mine,
as close as notes in our old rhymes.
you hold them now they cut me deep
but yours and mine will still keep.”

Here is their summer tour schedule (wishin’ for some Atlanta love). Oh, just in case you want to look back and learn more, here is the link to my last post (September 2014)…Stolen Jars-Folded Out
