Busy, crazy week…. well, okay, the entire month of May, but this song grabs my attention. Every time I hear it, I run to catch the who and what of it. Now I know, and you should too. And the quote above should add, but listening to music helps me to begin to understand…..
Mew, “Water Slides”, is the song I just simply can’t ignore anymore.
There is something so “seep under your skin” perfect about the lovely harmonies and the curious lyrics. A soothing song, yet also unsettling. A perfect combination of sound and emotion that hooks me in for a serious joyous nod of perfection. I have been so focused on Shaky Knees Festival that I am a little late to this party. Okay, this song is my today happy, in the midst of busy messes, that settles me and makes me curious enough to listen, really stop and listen. Yep, and I will listen again and again.

From Copenhagen, Denmark, Mew is Jonas Bjerre, Bo Madsen, Silas Graae, and Johan Wohlert. Their new album is out now and worth a joyous listen. I know I will listen in between my happy Shaky Knees bands.
