100 Watt Horse-If I Were An Ocean

large-8

This is pure, uncomplicated love, expressed in lyrics and sweet guitar strumming.

When I heard this song for the first time, I knew I appreciated the beauty of its simplicity, but the more I listen, the more I appreciate its incredible depth.

100 Watt Horse simply slayed the love song, with “If I Were An Ocean”.  What else can I say? The song speaks for itself.

“And if I were an ocean,

I’d be warmer than a bathtub

and you might come and swim beneath my waves

and if you fell asleep inside your boat, I’d steer you safely home

And if I were forest

I would grow the tallest trees

that you might come and climb them if you please

and you could build a house in which to stay

and never go away

And if I were a cloud

I would gather all the rain and take it somewhere far, far away

you’d never have to see a rainy day, again

no

and if I were a flower, I’d be prettiest of all

that you might come and pick me from the ground

you’d look at me and place me in your ear

and I’d be happy there

Cause if I were an ocean

I’d be warmer than a bathtub and you might come and swim beneath my waves

and if you fell asleep inside your boat, I’d steer you safely home

Yes, I’d steer you safely home”

100 Watt Horse is new to me and this song was shared by my savvy music friend who heard them recently. After trying to do some digging into where they play and what is up, I found that they have a new EP that is about to be released. This recent discovery of their music is the perfect timing to discover more. YAY! So check out their facebook page if you want to be the first to hear more.
