Mood Monday
Everything is going to be alright.
I feel the changing of the seasons, the moon’s predictable phases, and the rise and fall of each tide. Nature transforms and makes subtle changes, but their very omnipotent essence remains true and their beauty can be appreciated in all its unique forms.
Thus, I am reminded of moments when I am in the phase of a new moon, where it doesn’t appear but it is still present. Or I am in the changing and transforming season of fall and winter, where there is a natural cyclical death that makes room for the newness of life. Or even perhaps, I may be in the midst of a hurricane and despite the damage to the land, the sea continues to rise and fall in its expected soothing rhythm.
Life is ever changing. Relationships continue to morph and change, and yet if you are aware and fully present, there are strong constants. The steady ones are the relationships to celebrate and invest in deeply. Dependable relationships, like those changing seasons, moon phases, or ebb and flow of tides, are the obvious keepers.
But most importantly, the you that is you, is the key. Right now, I am in the time in my life where I can really focus on my very own relationship with… me. I am the only one who really has to live with me. Is that a joy or a sorrow?
Isn’t the person we should be satisfying and taking care of the most, ourselves? Somehow along the way, I have lost sight of this important fact and need to desperately swim back and firmly grasp the solid rock of my own hopes and dreams and core beliefs. I must create snippets of moments to focus on the emotional and physical survival of me.
Yas and Hallelujah!
I’m going to be alright, despite any losses, any hurts, and any fears.
I’m going to be alright.
Everything is going to be alright.
Shine a light on this right now.
Henry Chadwick-Alright
“I got love
And it’s burning a whole right through my vest
With nowhere to go
I’m loving alone ’cause I love myself best
I sure hope I feel hopeful
I’m done moping I guess
Put my thoughts on repeat and play to the beat
why do I get so obsessed
Alright
I’m alright
It’s alright
We’re alright
That’s enough insight
Shine a light on this right now
Your dead right
I’ve been dead wrong
dead stop, dead lock, dead end
The tightrope I’ve been walking on
has been slacking off again
Alright
I’m alright
It’s alright
We’re alright
That’s enough insight
Shine a light on this right now
Alright
I’m alright
It’s alright
We’re alright
That’s enough insight
Shine a light on this right now”
Henry Chadwick, from Santa Cruz, California, is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. His debut EP, Guest At Home illustrates Henry’s musical craftsmanship. He wrote, produced, engineered, and played most of the instruments on the EP. Each song is filled with catchy hooks and memorable lyrics which are ingested repeatedly without sagging. Henry Chadwick has obvious influences of the Beatles and combines it with a 90’s garage rock sound. I sorta hear The Strokes as well, how ’bout you?
“Alright” was released this past summer, but it is just hitting my happy ears this week. It reminds me of the power of positive thinking and working through any obstacles or hardships with a confident outlook. Most importantly moving past a mood and melancholy.
This tune is only one gem in the midst of many, I highly encourage you to listen to the EP in its entirety.
A hit indeed, let’s hope he makes it to Atlanta sometime real soon.
