Two weeks ago, Dashboard Confessional rode into Atlanta in support of their latest album, Crooked Shadow and I was there! On Valentine’s Day, I shared my favorite tune from the album, “Heart Beat, Here”, a tender song that has become quite popular as of late. Despite the many new songs, Dashboard Confessional’s back catalogue proved to be amazingly deep and the audience was excited to hear them again after several quiet years. What a night!
Beach Slang
If you have ever witnessed Beach Slang, you will know what a feast it is for the eyes and the ears. It is a SHOW! Frontman, James Alex, led the band with fist pumping songs, danced, performed, and celebrated indie rock! His female guitarists were crazy talented, and I definitely recognized his bassist from Savannah Stopover. She is also in the band The Pauses (Check them out HERE).
Kississippi
The concert began really early on a Friday and I barely had time to get myself together and make it to Buckhead Theater in time. I knew I wanted to catch Kississippi, because I blogged the song, “Cut Your Teeth”, earlier this year (HERE). Love that song! They were excellent, and I was so glad I was able to at least catch a couple of their songs. “Cut Your Teeth” brought rousing cheers and I think with every live performance they will be sure to build their fan base. Definitely a band to watch!
Lots of dates are sold out, but maybe you can catch the show near you.
