Valentine’s Day is coming up and the commercial world is telling us all, love is in the air. Heart cards, flowers, and chocolates should be purchased to express any lovey, dovey feelings. Is this holiday a drummed up “spend money” idea? Surely, love can’t be bought.
I was in a huge greeting card section yesterday and watched curiously as people picked up cards….read them, put them back, over and over, until they found the perfect one. What can a card really say? We should be saying the words in person, right? Perhaps a card and a gift doesn’t buy love, but it can tell someone you love, they are important to you. You’re thinking about them.
An investment.
We need to invest in love. Our society has become such a take, take society. Our country is in debt, our bank accounts are dwindling, politics divides us, technology gets in the way, and our relationships are suffering too. Perhaps we should put in more effort for love, than we expect in return? A little selflessness can go a long way.
Are you investing in love? How important is it to you? It is so easy to fall in a rut and let the day to day grind creep into your life sneakily. Maybe a simple card can’t solve everything, but maybe it can be an investment, and combined with other acts of love, help begin to express your true feelings.
Twin Peaks-Walk To The One You Love
[Verse 1]
I will let you walk to the one you love
I will let you walk to the one you love
But who is the one you love?
But tell me who is the one you love?[Verse 2]
Who when bashed and bruised will tend your wounds?
Who will aid you with their point of view?
But tell me who is the one you love?
But tell me who is the one you love?[Pre-Chorus]
I would hate to see you walk away
But I won’t cry or beg for you to stay[Chorus]
If you would use the one you love
You’re gonna lose the one you love[Verse 3]
Who will take you down to up above?
Who will greet you with that amber glow?
Oh, tell me who is the one you love?
Oh, tell me who is the one you love?[Pre-Chorus]
I would hate to see you walk away
But I won’t cry or beg for you to stay[Chorus]
If you use the one you love
You’re gonna lose the one you love[Outro]
I will let you walk to the one you love
I will let you walk to the one you love

Jangly guitars, scratchy vocals and emphatic choruses, add dimension and frivolity to this poppy tune. Twin Peaks is a group of five guys out of Chicago, Cadien Lake James, Clay Frankel, Connor Brodner, Jack Dolan, and the most recent addition Colin Croom. They have just dropped this happy hint of a song to tease our senses and make us wish for the entire album sooner. The release date for Down In Heaven is set for May, but after hearing, “Walk To The One You Love”, we may not be able to wait that long.
I am totally committed to playing it again and again and again! Now, that’s true love!
Have you seen those huge cards?! Big loving gesture for sure 😉
Absolutely! But the huge ones are probably just as cool as the ones with musical accompaniments!!! xo!
